the red planet

the red planet
it's been almost twenty years on the red planet, a place where there are no tears, it is just water floating, no they're not quite emoting
i'm starting this month long photo tour in the atacama desert of chile, specifically valle de la luna, which is so named because the sand and stone formations resemble the surface of the moon. although when the sun goes down i think more of mars myself. a theme which i'm sure i'm going to keep coming back to as i post these archives is how my processing style has changed in the last 10 years. i took this back in 2011, and at the time i must have been into hdr as i posted this really stylised shot from the same place, something which i would never consider, let alone try now. so i like that i'm able to put a 2020 spin on shots which are almost a decade old.
