looks are made from far off places
with the last photo i posted of the adélie penguins, i intentionally composed it with the foreground penguin out of focus and curving over the one in the back. the reason i did that was because of this photo which i took four days earlier in south georgia. i had just landed on st andrews bay and was immediately blown away by the sheer number of king penguins. as i set to take this photo, focussing on the penguin in the middle distance, another decided to photobomb the scene by walking across the frame, and in doing so instantly improved the composition.
