gentrificacion - extra image
you know how there are certain words that you've heard before, which you think you understand, but when push comes to shove you can't really explain the meaning. well gentrification was one of those words for me, and this piece of street art makes so much more sense now that i know the definition. i also now know how to say it in spanish as well. most importantly though this knowledge means that one of my favourite scenes in chasing amy is suddenly a lot clearer and funnier. now if i could just learn what a nubian is...
