the recluse - extra image

the recluse
but i can't complain, i can choose, stay the same or refuse, i'll remain a recluse, i'll remain a recluse
so i've got a good reason for my recent lack of updates. last week i developed a rash on the top side of my face which started to spread and caused my right eye to swell up. i was prescribed antibiotics by my doctor but it became worse so i went to an out of hours doctor on the weekend and then returned to the same hospital the following morning to see an eye doctor. i get a little bit freaked out about things eye related so i was a bit concerned when the student nurse told me she was going to test my eye pressure. when i asked what that involved she calmly replied you know when you have your blood pressure tested... well it's like that... but with your eyeball. unsurprisingly that explanation didn't have the intended calming effect. it wasn't anywhere near as bad, but the worst part of the ordeal was simply being out in public. i felt really uncomfortable and self conscious - even with one functioning eye i knew that i didn't look good - so i had my hood up, head down and sunglasses on. in fact i wore the same 'disguise' the night before when i saw the doctor - turns out walking one-eyed at night in sunglasses isn't an easy task. anyways i returned from the hospital with four different types of medication, including two drugs that are dropped or squirted into my eye, to take at seven different intervals throughout the day. aside from my two hospital visits i haven't left the house or had any real human contact in over a week so i'm hoping the cocktail works it magic sooner rather than later.

here's the original
Here's to a speedy recovery.
