we had a good system in place when it came to food on my recent snowboarding holiday. because we drove over we were able to bring a big coolbox, which contained a variety of pre-cooked and frozen, homemade meals. these included chicken pie, lasagne and turn-your-arse-into-a-blowtorch chilli con carne. when we arrived at our accommodation we just left the coolbox on the balcony, which combined with the air temperature, acted like a massive freezer. then all we needed to do was bring a dish inside before we went to bed and it would be ready for the next night's dinner. it was certainly preferable to paying upwards of twenty euros every night eating out. we couldn't take advantage of this system when we first arrived, since we didn't have anything already defrosted, so this was the first night's meal. the french call it cassoulet and i haven't looked this up but i think that translates into english as dog food. having said that they must take good care of their dogs over there, cos it wasn't half bad.

here's the original
