hotter than a match head

all around people looking half dead, walking on the sidewalk hotter than a match head

cartagena is a beautiful colonial city in the north of colombia. it has great colourful architecture and pretty streets. unfortunately it also has a really oppressive heat. it's just so damn hot. this temperature really made it difficult for me to leave my air conditioned room and walk the streets during the day. when i did i sweated profusely, felt dehydrated and couldn't last too long before i needed to sit down. or maybe it was because i turned 30 when i was there and i'm just getting old. meh, i still think if you need to walk down the street with an umbrella you're in a place which is either wet or far too hot.

ha - unfortunately i didn't see the match so i can't really comment... is your country still in the competition or are they fighting each other and refusing to train? :-)

but where are platt, lineker, pearce, waddle, seaman, adams, ince, mcmanaman, beckham, shearer, owen, sol campbell? the team i saw on monday was the weakest english team since i was born... 30 years ago... geoff hurst seems so far!!!

oh i'm not going to argue against that, most of our players are past their best of only have 'potential'. then again all of the players you mentioned didn't win anything with england so great players don't always make for a winning team. and you could say the same with france: no more zidane, henry, vieira, pires, petit, trezuguet - that was when france/arsenal were the best!
