twenty five
i try to make some kind of effort to post a christmassy photo on this day of the year, what with it being christmas and everything. the connection switches from the tenuous: starry, snowy, celebratory to the more obvious: decorations on the street or on the tree. well this definitely falls in the first category, and to be honest i could have picked the twenty fifth of any month to post it, but i only processed it a few days ago and i didn't have the patience to wait another 30 days. as far as i know there isn't much snow that falls on this airstrip - it is in the centre of guyana's rainforest near a big waterfall - so it's difficult to make it look particularly festive. then again my previous two christmases were spent under the burning sun in argentina and ecuador so the definition of festive is relative to where you are in the world. and now i'm back in england i've been reminded that the sky usually does look like this in late decemeber - so maybe this isn't so inappropriate.
