return of the mac
i've written countless times in the last two and bit years about the antipathy i felt towards my pc laptop. it's tough to say what enraged me the most: the lack of speed, the non-functioning battery or the way it would crash and turn itself off with alarmingly consistent frequency. deep down the fact it was a pc was always going to be an issue which made us incompatible. it tested and broke my patience on a daily basis and last month i decided that i couldn't take it any longer so despite legitimate financial concerns i splashed out on a macbook pro. as soon as i plugged it in i was bathed in a warm glow of backlit keyboarded serenity, and when i unplugged it the fresh battery ensured that glow would continue to burn for the next six hours. having suffered in the toxic pungency of windows for close to a thousand dark days, switching to a machine with an apple on the back really feels like coming up for air.
i used two exposures for this, one for the screen and another for the keyboard, here's one of the originals
