does it feel like a trial?
when i left england to go travelling i packed up most of my possessions into storage, and now that i'm back home most of them are still there. i suppose i realised that i didn't really need a lot of the stuff that i used to have - a camera, a laptop and some clothes served me well for two years in south america so why should i add to that list? if that makes me sound a little too sanctimonious then i can undercut that sentiment when i say that the one item i was desperate to free from the storage prison was my playstation 3. i caught up with a bunch of games that i'd missed during my exile and out of all of them my favourite was portal 2. it has the magic combination of being addictive, engrossing, funny, emotional and most importantly fun. and the icing on the cake is that it also features a fantastic song written specifically for the game by one of my favourite bands the national. i was reminded of the game when i saw this building during a walk in valencia - so i appropriated a line from that song for the title. and speaking of addictive, funny and engrossing games with great music - there was a little release very early this morning which i'm confident will become my new favourite game.
