i'd heard good things about the tv remake of fargo and started watching it at the end of last year. about 20 minutes into the first episode i went to the kitchen and told my housemate that there was this character called lorne malvo played by billy bob thornton who was a bad guy that you kinda root for. after another 20 minutes i returned to the kitchen to revise that opinion, he was a bad guy but you really don't root for him. by the end of the episode that thought had mutated again to he's a really bad guy, you really don't root for him, but he's cool/evil as fuck. the deal breaker for that final amendment was when he's pulled over by a local cop and offers this threatening advice:
some roads you shouldn't go down, because maps used to say 'there be dragons here', now they don't, but that don't mean the dragons aren't there.
