making plans
i've been fortunate that this year my work has already taken me to south africa and the usa. however both trips followed the pattern of one week of work plus one week of holiday - it's been a few years since i went on a genuine travelling adventure. that's going to change next weekend when i fly to madagascar. i'll be there for three weeks which makes for a fairly long holiday, but for me a fairly short adventure, i did spend a couple of years in south america after all. as a result i've had to do something which does not come naturally to me... i've had to do some planning. my research informs me that madagascar is pretty easy (and cheap) for eating and sleeping, but difficult (and potentially expensive) for moving around the country - in fact everything that i've read has recommended organising trips and tours in advance. so with this advice in mind i've spent most of my time watching david attenborough documentaries and marvelling at the amazing flora and fauna... i'm sure all this meticulous planning will pay off when i get to the island.
