a broken but pretty mess
upon hearing the news of fidel casto's death this morning i was inspired to look back at some of the pictures i took in cuba back in 2012. i used to struggle with trying to work out whether castro was good or bad as there were very strong opinions on both sides of the argument. i concluded that answer was a bit of both, he did some great things as well as some awful things, like most people albeit on a grander scale. what is undeniable is that it was an achievement that he managed to live until the age of 90, which was even more impressive when you factor in the numerous assassination attempts on his life. it's speculated that this number exceeded 600 and the plots included poison pens, exploding cigars and infected scuba diving suits. he was a real life cuban road runner to the c.i.a's wile e coyote.
