in the lost and found
most of the time when i go travelling i take public transport to get around, but bali was one of the few exceptions. it seems as though almost everyone gets around with a scooter, so that's exactly what i did, renting them in each place that i stayed. one big advantage of this way of travelling is the complete freedom to get lost and explore unexpected places. for example i was on my way to a temple in the east of the island, constantly checking roadsigns and google maps to make sure i was going the right way, and this awesome view just appeared in front of me. i'm certain i would not have found it if it wasn't for the random route i took with my scooter. there are disadvantages to travelling by this method, which i covered when i detailed my terrifying journey back from the eastern temple. but that experience didn't stop me from jumping back on a scooter the a few days later to keep on exploring the island.
