compared to the last couple of shots this is a pretty old self portrait from over 8 years ago when i was exploring caves in venezuela. i want to say that i took this at the top of this cave, i can't honestly remember, but the rock near the top looks similar and since i had my tripod out and set up it seems like a fair assumption. this was also the last time that i wore the walking shoes that i brought with me to south america as they were pretty close to dust by the time i made it out of this national park. they had a good run, lasting over 20 months, and it was probably the last time my feet felt comfortable on the continent as the largest replacements i could find in coro were still two sizes too small.

i combined two photos to get this effect, as the shot where i was flapping my arms was unsurprisingly less sharp than the one where i was static. here's one of the originals
