in the spaces in between
one thing that i really miss about travelling is being able to see a starry sky at night, the weather and light pollution makes it particularly difficult, and the lockdown doesn't help to provide many solutions. despite this i have noticed the odd clear sky in the last couple of months, and i tried to capture the view facing upwards from my patio. the image that came out of the camera was fine, if a little uninspiring, so i flipped it to create this mirror image. immediately the tree branches joined together, and created rorschach type illusions when i repositioned the centre line. it might just be me, but i make out either a grumpy cat or a peaceful cat depending on which branches i assign to the eyes.
here's the (aforementioned uninspiring) original
