jaws will open
during the first lockdown in 2020 i spent the month of may posting a photo from a different country each day. when i got to the argentina day i remarked how keen i was to spend more time in patagonia if or when i returned to south america. it's mad thinking back to that time knowing that i made it there a couple of years later en route to antarctica. due to the last minute nature of the trip i ended up arriving in ushuaia a day before almost everyone else, so i went for a little walk in tierra del fuego national park with a couple of other travellers i'd met. it wouldn't be fair to compare the landscape and fauna in this park with what i would later discover in places such as south georgia and beyond, but it was an enjoyable reintroduction into that travelling lifestyle which i yearned for throughout all of those lockdowns.
