every time you think you're talking, you're just moving your mouth
i saw these gentoo penguins on my last shore visit in antarctica before we began to sail back to south america. it was in a place called damoy point, which was fittingly blanketed in fresh powder which would have been ideal to snowboard on, albeit an activity not really ideal for the colony of gentoo penguins. in fact we had to take particular care just walking around, if you stepped too heavily half your leg could disappear deep into the snow. as well as the obvious problems this could cause the person walking, it could also present problems for the native inhabitants. if a gentoo penguin fell into one of those foot holes it's difficult to imagine how they would be able to escape. so i figured my best course would be to tread lightly.
