eating snowflakes
this is one of the gentoo penguins who was distracting me from the beautiful scenery on and around danco island. as with every photo i take, i shot this in landscaoe, but like the adelie penguin on paulet island i had to convince myself to go for a different crop. it still feels like it goes against my instincts not to keep things at 3:2, but i couldn't deny that the subject works better when it's more isolated in a square crop. which is my way of saying it's the penguins fault.
