church in the wild
in my last post i mentioned that i travelled to the city of madurai whilst suffering from a second bout of delhi belly. well that bout stayed with me during my entire stay there so to be honest it wasn't the most enjoyable time. i did manage one big walk to a famous temple which had airport style security and a strict no camera policy. i had to come back to my accommodation for a work call later that afternoon and i remember returning really dehydrated and soaked in sweat. i collapsed on the floor of my bathroom and doused myself in buckets of cold water for around 15 minutes to bring me back to life. so i didn't take too many photos and eventually left and went as far south as i could to the city of kanyakumari on the southern tip of india. it was dark when i arrived and i went up to the rooftop of my hotel to discover i was surrounded by a jungle with various religious buildings lit up and poking out from the mass of palm trees.
the red cross on top of this church stood out the most, but seeing as i was in india there was also a hindu temple not too far away
