the ups and the sundowns
i only spent one night in bangalore, thankfully the doctors' visit made it a worthwhile stop, before i took another overnight bus to canacona in goa. this was my second time in the state, but my first time in the southern part which i skipped when i visited before, and the vibe was definitely a lot more chilled and relaxed. after spending far too much time feeling unwell inside of hotel bedrooms i was keen to socialise, and as soon as i arrived and went to get breakfast i started chatting to a traveller who gave me directions to a secret beach. so the next day i rented a scooter, headed north and took some steep steps down a cliff to a small cove called kakolem beach. it was almost empty apart from a father and young son who appeared to be camping out and a few guys who i recognised from my hostel... so i guess the beach isn't an airtight secret. but it was well worth the journey, it felt so good to be back riding on a scooter, and the beach definitely delivered with the sunset.
