in a similar vein to my last post, i took this photo when i had just arrived in alishan and the rain didn't stop all day. it's situations like this where i wish that i had a macro lens, although it was fairly arduous keeping the lenses that i did have dry, so i probably shouldn't be adding to my load. by this i'd been in taiwan over a couple of months and i was accustomed to the constant rain. when i was in taipei i saw an american stand up called anthony jeselnik who opened his set by saying that he'd been doing stand up for 20 years and to celebrate his agent suggested he pick some of the greatest cities in the world to perform in...

"and i of course said no thank you... i gotta go to taipei... and when i get there it had better be fucking typhoon season"

to be honest it made me feel better that i wasn't the only outsider who had picked the wettest season to visit the island
