fallout shelter
how about that, it looks like this site hasn't been updated in almost a month. well i've been away from my desk for a few weeks, travelling around the americas. i came back last week with each of the preceding sd cards full up with raw photos. over 3000 in fact. i still haven't had a chance to go through them, or really begin to go through them. nevertheless i wanted to update the site, and as this was the first photo i took on my trip i figured it would be a good place to start.
this was inside a stairwell in a hotel in new york. i didn't plan to be in new york at the beginning of my holiday. unfortunately fate, and continental airlines, had other ideas. the consequence of landing late into newark airport, along with a 40 minute window to catch my flight to peru - in which time i had to tackle immigration, customs and baggage claim - was an unexpected saturday night in new york. i shared a taxi into manhattan with an english couple who were in a similar situation. they'd stayed in new york before so we headed to a hotel they knew - the waldorf in midtown. as soon as i walked in i felt under dressed, so i went to the concierge and asked if there were any cheaper hotels in the area. it felt like a cheeky question, but she was really helpful, rang around, and i ended up staying a few blocks away at the pod hotel. this was the first thing i saw after dumping my bags and heading outside to start exploring.
