machu picchu
it was over four months ago that i went to peru and walked the inca trail. the main reason for doing that, in
fact the main reason for going to peru in the first place, was because i wanted to see machu picchu. it's a bit strange that i
took so long to get round to posting an actual picture of it - but hopefully like the trek it was worth the wait. what can i say
about it, it's just an astonishing place in every way. the trek took four days, and we all made an effort to get up early (like
four in the morning early) with the hope of seeing the sun rise over the sun gate. a few others had the same idea, and we ended
up queueing for a good hour before walking as briskly as our tired bones could take us. when we arrived we were greeted with a
huge grey vista of very dense clouds. we couldn't see a thing. any disappointment we felt at that time was dispelled when we got
closer, the clouds parted, and we were presented with this view. i don't think i need to say anymore, words all become inconsequential when the world looks like this.
