seven days of snow
last week i went snowboarding for the first time in a few years. the destination of choice was tignes, in the alps, and the transport of choice, instead of the usual plane, was this car. the advantage of this was saving money on travel, as well as saving money on food by bringing over a bunch of frozen meals. in theory we could also bring more stuff in a car. in practice when you have four people, four sets of luggage, and four snowboards, there's not a great deal of room left over. discounting the drive and ferry to france, the journey took about ten hours each way, and we clocked up a couple of thousand kilometres in the process. we all took it in turns to drive so this wasn't nearly as bad as it sounds - and of course there was a welcome reward waiting for us at our destination.
this photo is a combination of two shots, the first taken just before arriving and the second taken a week later as we were departing. here's one of the originals
