yesterday i started a drinking session in town at two in the afternoon. the night ended sometime after eleven and in between those two times, at about nine in the evening, three of us indulged in some absinthe. one of the last times i'd drunk absinthe was on new years eve over five years ago and once again it performed an unsurprisingly intoxicating role in the night. although the mixture of guinness, ale, vodka, rum, whiskey and tequila all played important supporting characters. the twelve pictures above were frames taken from a four minute video i drunkenly filmed of the experience. at one point on the video we jokingly say "we'll look back on this (video) and say: 'thank you very much, you're the reason we got in trouble in two hours time'". with the benefit of hindsight those words were strangely prophetic as a run-in with some unmarked cops will testify... but that's another story.
