bonnet of pins - extra image
i've mentioned before that my favourite place in taiwan was alishan with it's beautiful landscapes and nature. my favourite city in taiwan ended up being the last one which i visited, kaohsiung in the south of the island. of course the presence of monkeys certainly helped with this ranking, but there was also a vibe to the city which really appealed to me. a big contribution to this was the arty aspect to the city, specifically as i walked around the pier 2 art center which had numerous cool buildings, installations and street art. i took a lot of photos as i walked around one evening so i will end up posting a few more, my googling has told me that this one is called chair score (or chair sheet music) and may have been replaced by something new in dayi park. while it would be a shame that something which looks so cool is no longer there, it kinda makes me like the city more that they are constantly evolving and adding new pieces of art
