it's herd behaviour
yesterday was the first time since i came back to england that i went to the pub to watch the footy. the game was arsenal vs spurs, which is almost always a great game for the neutral and either elating or excruciating for myself. it didn't start well as one of our former players scored against us after 10 minutes. fortunately 7 minutes later he atoned for this impertinence in the best possible way, by receiving a red card for an idiotic foul. what followed was a very rewarding performance with a further six goals to finish with a familiar 5-2 scoreline - the same as last seasons fixture. it looked like a cracking atmosphere in the stadium, maybe not up to these high standards in buenos aires, but still pretty good for london. at the very least it must have been better than my pub where i was surrounded by tottenham fans - although it was satisfying to see an opposition supporter grumble i'm gonna get my hair cut as he stormed out after 60 minutes.
