just before it hit

just before it hit
i tossed a diamond into the stream, it was crazy i couldn't help it was amazing, it went forever cross the water but wouldn't stop and didn't skip and never looked more beautiful than just before it hit
well it's been a while huh? i lost a whole month, and this time i can't blame it the internet in northern colombia. in my defence since my last post i was kicked out of my house in south london, went on another snowboarding holiday in france and then moved into a new house in north london. oh and my computer was also broken for a couple of weeks in that time. and unlike colombia i don't think i took any photos with my slr in the month of april, so i'm hoping that this month will be more productive, inspiring and a whole lot less stressful. this is a shot from a gopro video on my second ski trip where my mate was trying a few jumps, with varying degrees of success. after this particular effort he said "we'll delete that one" before speeding away. i'm fairly certain i would have heard the words "but feel free take a still from the video and stick it on the internet" if i could have kept up with him. incidentally whilst we were in france a group of us downloaded an app called ski tracks which measures your distance, speed and altitude whilst on the slopes. this resulted in an informal (and potentially dangerous) competition between everyone in the chalet to see who could get the fastest time. i was comfortably in the bottom half of the leaderboard with a maximum speed of 45mph - which i still maintain is pretty damn fast when your strapped to a plank of wood hurtling down a mountain. that was nothing compared to a couple of skiers who both got close 70mph. that's over 100km/h. that's insane. given another week i'm pretty sure there would be a few broken records and probably a few broken bones.
