the mother we share
it might sound strange from someone who spent over 2 years on the road, but i really hate moving house. more specifically i hate the process of looking for new places to live, going for viewings and trying to impress in interviews with existing housemates. there was a lot of things wrong with my first place in london, but it was only after the landlord kicked out my other housemates and announced she was selling the house that i started looking for a new home. i moved in april and immediately felt comfortable and settled, so it was frustrating that a couple of months ago my current landlord also decided to sell up. i spent the first month in denial, and the last few weeks enduring the stressful process of searching again. it was therefore with immense relief that i finally found a new place on sunday which i'll move into next week. it's a little more expensive than where i am now, but a bigger room and in the same area which i like. i can only hope that when i move i don't bring the curse with me and my new landlord doesn't decide to exit the rental game.
