lord, can you hear me now?
this was our guide at the highest point of mount roraima, one of the few places where he could get radio signal to speak with base camp. he was the first person that i'd ever met from guyana and i loved they way he spoke, for example he would pronounce base camp as beers comp. when i say that back in my head now it sounds geordie, but i swear it had a caribbean twang when i was on the mountain.
