this haunted ground
the weather was beautiful for almost all of the five days i spent in poland, i was treated to blue skies, very few clouds and a hot, burning sun. however when we arrived at birkenau, part of the auschwitz concentration camp network, the weather shifted and sent a storm hurtling towards us. thirty seconds after i took this photo the heavens opened and we were attacked by a violent rainstorm leaving us soaked to the bone - which is probably the least worst thing that has ever happened to anyone at that place.
