as you sleep through a winter's dream
last week i popped up to scotland for a short, post-christmas holiday with my family. i was in two minds about going, but i was swung by the prospect of doing a bit of snowboarding on some nearby slopes. with no plans to go to the alps i saw it as my only chance this year. however i had already been up to the lake district over christmas, and saw very little evidence of snowfall, so i was skeptical that there'd be enough snow with which to board. this photo proves that i should have had more faith in the freezing scottish climate... so why isn't it a photo of the snowy ski mountains? well unfortunately i never made it there as i picked up a bug from my nephew that had me shitting, vomiting and fevering my way through the night. rather depressingly i took this from my window on a trip between my bed to the bathroom. i should have learned by now that british weather is far, far more reliable than my feeble immune system.
