i'm hiding out where you can't see
i was definitely most excited about hanging out with the lemurs i met in madagascar, but my favourite animal photo is this one i took in ranomafana. it's a moss stick insect, and this was pretty much the only angle where you could actually see the creature. from above it's ridiculously well camouflaged against the big mossy stick it inhabits that i was amazed our guide even saw it there. i'm also particularly proud of this photo as the conditions at the time were really inhospitable. it was raining heavily for every second we were walking, and the rainforest canopy wasn't doing a great job at preventing the water from falling onto me or my camera. i felt like i was taking a risk every time i exposed my camera to the wet conditions, so i'm grateful that i emerged from the rainforest with a functioning camera along with this pretty exposure inside.
