our endless, numbered days
as well as the mountains, horses and waterfalls that rico foretold when we visited jeti oguz, there was also a red sandstone rock formation called seven bulls which sounded pretty cool. our taxi dropped us off on one side of a stream, and we spent a good 30 minutes trying to find a way to cross. when we eventually found a bridge and got closer to the bulls, we discovered the only way of getting close was through this man's backyard. despite an impenetrable language barrier, we chatted for a few minutes. i showed him on the map how far we had travelled from our ancestral homes to visit his country. in response he took off his kyrgz hat to reveal another awesome hat underneath. his banter was way better than my banter. and his backyard was considerably more impressive than mine.
