moon valley
this is valle de la luna, or moon valley, in la paz, bolivia. it's a strange landscape made out of clay stalagmites which have been eroded into this shape over time. a lot of time. i'm pretty sure the guide told us that it got it's name after neil armstrong saw the place and commented that it was the closest thing on earth that resembled the surface of the moon. i'm not sure if that's just an urban legend, but it still looked pretty cool.
