when i was camping on the inca trail i showed off my long exposure light trail party trick to my fellow travellers. i think everyone was fairly sceptical when i asked them to stand in the dark and wave around their torches in the direction of the camera. however, when they saw the result on the lcd screen they responded in childlike wonder and went back to creating more patterns. this culminated in this mine and heather's spontaenous profanity. in between that we all had a go writing our names in the air, and then shining the light in our faces. it's not as easy as it seems as you have to write from right to left... and backwards... and keep it all in the frame... and do it all within fifteen seconds. i've only got three letters in my name and i still arsed it up first time around - i'm glad my folks didn't decide to call me hannah. having said that she has got a palindromic name so that did end up looking pretty cool.
