i was looking forward to going out tonight to a big bonfire night event - it being the fifth of november and all. i wanted to take some cool long exposure shots of fireworks and sparklers - like this or this. unfortunately fate intervened and handed me a horrible cold, so i'm stuck inside feeling like shite. bugger it. my substitute picture is this light based, long exposure effort. it was taken on our final nights camping on the inca trail. as the night had fallen we all had torches out so that we could walk around the campsite. i thought it would be a fun if we wrote our names in the air with the light - like a poor man's sparkler. after a round each of doing our names we went up in pairs and wrote the first word we could think of. as a result of the processing delay on my camera we all then huddled around the screen and had to wait fifteen seconds before the lcd revealed what word we'd created. this was mine and heather's accomplishment, and yes, we were proud of ourselves.
