follow the flame - extra image
a couple hours after we arrived at our campsite in andringitra the sun had been replaced by stars and the light by darkness. i went outside to take some pictures when my mate reminded me of a drunken conversation we once had. it was regarding a little trick whereby you can 'safely' create a fireball using just your hand an a lighter. when he first told me i didn't believe him. then he showed me youtube videos which looked pretty cool and i knew i had to try and photograph it one day. it seemed like an appropriate time since we had a camera, a lighter and a hand. i took this shot as i tried to set up the exposure and focus, however all of the subsequent photos just show a man failing to set his hand on fire. after a few unsuccessful minutes we decided to jack it in and start taking photos of the stars instead. when i get round to posting those pictures i think you'll recognise we made the right choice.
