the needle's eye - extra image
this is another shot from when i went snowboarding in tignes at the start of the year. i've been to tignes a few times, the last of which was about six years ago, but almost everything about it seemed unfamiliar. that was no bad thing as i was with a couple of guys who knew the area really well, so providing i could keep up with them i wouldn't get lost. i took this shot from l'aiguille percee a.k.a. the eye of the needle which is a cool rock formation or as the french say curiosité géologique. it was somewhat tricky getting to this vantage point as it was a steep, slippy climb, plus there was quite a lot of traffic to make it inside the eye. i felt like the view justified the effort.
