in my last post i extolled the beauty of the king penguins who were plentiful in south georgia, but the funniest penguins i encountered on my trip were these adélie penguins who i met in antarctica. they look like a kid's sketch of a penguin, particularly with the white ocular marking which make their eyes really stand out. the way they move and waddle on land was in turn comical and mesmerising. i captured this little guy as he was stumbling to the top of a tiny mountain of ice, which he had been chipping and eating for fresh water with his partner.
