on sunday i went to see adam green play at leeds cockpit. his gemstones album is one of those rare ones that gets played all of the time at work, yet i still really like it. he's an unusual act, he sings like someone twice his age, and his lyrics are both nonsensical, yet funny and quirky. sure enough, the gig itself was really entertaining, with mr green really getting into it (in other words buzzing his tits off). and for the second consecutive cockpit gig i ended up chatting to the lead act afterwards. he seemed like a decent bloke, and a lot more coherent than his stage persona would indicate. he also did a killer daniel johnston impression after he spotted the t-shirt i was wearing. normally i'd post individual photos and stretch it out over a few days - however i thought these worked better as a collective and gave a better overview of the night. incidentally, the girl in the colourful tights was a fan that jumped on adam after he left the stage pre-encore. he promptly carried her backstage (top right) before returning a few minutes later with her draped over his shoulder (top middle).
