from my hometown
i first heard alberta cross well over 18 months ago when they released their debut ep the thief and the heartbreaker. i really enjoyed it, particularly the title track, but didn't hear anything from them for ages. when i came back from holiday i was happy to discover they'd released their debut album while i was away. i was even happier to hear that they were touring, playing in leeds cockpit, and tickets were only five quid. they were playing in a tiny room upstairs, where i'd never seen a band play before, but as with most small venues it was all the better for the size. i even got to chat to the band, get a signed album and a tshirt. well worth a fiver.
