shake it out
my visit to norsey wood with dee was the first time i truly saw her in her element - and it turns out her element of choice is water. all of our previous walking trips had been in a local park which is lacking in any significant bodies of water. the last time i was down in her patch we switched things up and took a walk near the river. she didn't hesitate to rush straight into the water and await her orange ball. i noted that every third or fourth exit from the river resulted in a quick water shake so i tried to predict the optimum camera angle, focal length and timing to capture this. it was a tricky combination with predictably erratic results - but i'm pretty happy with how this shot turned out - and i'm sure dee wouldn't complain if i return to the water with her from some future photoshoots.
i implemented a bit of hdr to this image for the first time in ages, along with some other colour effects, which changed the look quite a bit - here's the original
