when you move i move with you
when we arrived in namibia our polish friend ran into some problems as it turns out he was special and unlike us needed a visa to enter the country. he didn't have said visa so he had to fly back to cape town and wait for the embassy to open before booking another flight back to namibia. whilst he was sorting that out we drove up to etosha to check out the animals. we woke up early on the day we were leaving so we could make a detour to the airport to pick him up. we went to get breakfast by a watering hole just as the sun rose and saw giraffes and springbok casually sauntering by. this was followed by some kind of avian ballet recital where a dozen or so birds started dipping and diving around the water in synchronised pairs. it was a captivating spectacle, and was certainly a factor in why we were about an hour late in meeting our polish friend.
i had to cheat to get this framing, as when i took the picture i clipped off some of the top bird's wing. i don't really photo editing in this way as i do consider it some kind of faking, but it's the result i wanted, so i feel ok if declare it clearly - and for evidence here's the original
