golden slumbers
today we said goodbye to a friend, my sister's dog dee went to sleep for the final time. her health started deteriorating last year and for a while it seemed as though this day would come sooner, but she hung on in there. in fact it was only eight months ago that i took her to her favourite spot along the river to splash and shake with the ball. she was at my sister's side on her wedding day and in the house when my niece arrived into the world. she may have been scared of stairs, balloons and the wind but she was still a trooper, she was loved and will be sorely missed.
