i wanna hold you - extra image
i was really looking forward to seeing lemurs in the rainforests of ranomafana, so i was disappointed that it rained so heavily and the lemurs we did see kept to themselves at the top of the tree canopy. we moved on to andasibe after and within half an hour of getting off the bus we saw a family of indri. they too were at the top of the trees, however that was still lower than our previous rainforest and the guide assured us they would descend the next day. my earlier experience had taught me to be pessimistic but he was true to his word and the following morning i was literally face to face with the some of the biggest lemurs on the planet. my emotions were in complete contrast to the preceding days and i felt pure joy for my entire time there - on an island full of amazing animals these big, fuzzy bastards were an undoubted highlight.
