nuclear family - extra image
there were lots of birds on paulet island, primarily adélie penguins and these blue eyed shags, who come to the island to breed. we were supposed to spend a couple of hours amongst them, but after ninety minutes the sea swell became too much so we all had to evacuate. as i was on my way back to the zodiacs i spotted this little family in a nest high up on a rock, acting relatively calm as the waves rose up below.
