no one's more special, more than me - extra image
last night i went to see skunk anansie play at leeds academy, it was my fourth gig this month and third in just over a week. it's hard to compare them as they were all good in different ways, daniel johnston is a living legend, alberta cross was brilliant because it was such a small venue, flaming lips were, well no one puts on a show quite like the lips. skunk anansie had quite a lot to live up to - and they didn't disappoint. i think it was their first british show in almost ten years, as they only recently got back together. i never saw them the first time around, so as a result didn't know what to expect. what i got was performance full of energy. their lead singer skin, who doesn't look any different, stage dived, crowd surfed, and even climbed up the rigging and walked along the edge of the balcony. she's a great frontwoman.
