daniel johnston
last week i went to manchester, kind of at the last minute, to see a gig with daniel johnston and friends. a mate of mine let me know about the gig because he knew i liked sparklehorse who was one of the friends playing (under his more normal moniker of mark). sparklehorse also produced daniel's newest album fear yourself and played a big part in putting together the excellent covers album discovered covered. all of this convinced me it was worth going to see him live and i wasn't disappointed. i managed to get in with my big camera, and got a little further forward than i had done the week before, so i'll post photos of the other friends in the next few days - but for now this is daniel. and yes, he is reading off a folder entitled 'daniel johnston band lyrics'.
