norman blake
teenage fanclub were one of those bands that i'd always heard of but never actually heard. or seen for that matter. and i kind of assumed that they were surfer american types doing punky westcoast shite. well it turns out that they're scottish, and they have a singer called norman who looks a bit like a bank manager. who knew? it also turns out, and this is just based on norman's performance at the daniel johnston gig, they're pretty damn good. for some reason, and i think it's partly because of the scottish connection, his expression here reminds me of the dad in so i married an axe murderer. i can just picture him breaking out with "IF you want my body AND you think i'm sexy C'MON darling let me know". you'll get that if you've seen the movie, and if you hadn't you should watch it, it's a freaking classic.
